The Ride
2009 is Oregon's sesquicentennial (that's a 150th anniversary to you and me). What better way to celebrate than with a quick ride around the state. And what better way to recognized the great work done by the employees of the Oregon Department of Corrections than with a neighborly visit. The Oregon DOC has institutions located every region of the state. The Two Wheels for Transition Ride will stop at every one of them in a single day. Fourteen institutions, 1100 miles, 24 hours. Impossible? Hardly! The ride begins at 3:00 AM on June 19th near North Bend at Shutter Creek Correction Institution and finishes at Warner Creek Correctional
Facility in Lakeview about 21 hours later. During the intervening 1100 miles, Paul will experience all the states' geographic regions: The Coast, The Willamette Valley, The Metro Area, The Gorge and Central, Eastern and Southern Oregon.
