The Rider
Paul Peloquin learned of the challenges of transitioning
female offenders while working as a correctional officer at
Coffee Creek Correctional Facility. Paul volunteers as
Treasurer of PRISM, Inc., sponsor of Shelly’s House.
He also contnues to work for the Oregon Department of
Corrections as a Training and Development Specialist.
Paul’s been motorcycling for over 26 years and rode
across country just months after learning to ride a bike.
That trip set the hook; his love of motorcycle travel
was born. He completed his first SaddleSore 1000
(one thousand miles in 24 hours) in 2000. Since then,
he’s competed in numerous endurance events and fin-
ished 18th in the 2007 Iron Butt Rally. In September
of 2008, Paul rode an incredible 6033 miles in five
days during the Run What Ya Brung III rally. In 2009,
Two Wheels for Transition was born. Paul rode 1100
miles in 21 hours, visited all 14 Oregon prisons and
raised over $4,200 for Shelly's House.
